Happy birthay, my Girl

Don't you think it's funny how we celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and other dates? We celebrate the Earth going around the Sun one more time since the last time we did something, said something, or experienced something. We're silly like that, us crazy mortals.
I think that we do it so that we don't forget the meaning of that day or that event. Yeah, that must be it. We have to make sure we remember how much a person is worth on their birthday. We have to make sure we don't forget. So we do it every year, lest we forget.
Then again, with seeing you and talking to you, and loving you like I do, every day, how could I forget? Should I ever forget, please remind me with a swift kick in the pants... But make sure that I haven't developed a brain condition, or gotten caught up in hostage negotiations in the Congo on your birthday. Those two circumstances may take me away from remembering your birthday.
Anyway, I just want to tell you that I love you, that I wish you a happy birthday, and that I very much would like to be around for the next 80, or so, of these you will have.
